Ayup All...

As I promised Sarge, Here's my Belated Bare-Bones Review of the new 1/76th scale Airfix Female Tank. Interestingly enuff, the Catalogue lists the Scale as 1/32nd ! It is Boxed in one of the Splendid new 'Red Boxes'. With a nice depiction of a Tank in Action.

It's moulded crisply in the Generic pale Blue Plastic and has 69 pieces on 3 Sprues, with the Tracks being of the  'Rubber Band' variety. with the Instructions, it's a full Box, but the Decal sheet is, of course only small, giving a serial number and the epithet: 'We're all in it'. Indeed.

Pics:

Box top:

Main Sprues: Two with A hull half each and the other with the Sponson Parts.

Hull 1:

Hull 2 with Wheels:

Sponson Parts:

General Sprue Layouts. (chopped the Tracks off though !) - Sorry !

Destructions are 'Typical Airfix and Unfortunately we don't have a Seperate Colour sheet for painting. But that doesn't spoil anything.

Others have built the Kit here already, so I direct you all to the various Demo-build threads. Suffice to say, It looks like a nice Kit to me.

Destruction Sequence:

Paint Guide:

And FWIW, Decal sheet: (You won't see much !)

If there are any more left, You can see all my pics on 'Bucket here:

Still dissapointed they didn't take the opportunity to fix the original problems and make it into an actual Mk I

What needs fixing? Which variant does it represent or is it a 'bitsa'?

Hi All...
The problem is the original was never ever a MKI and has been pointed out is in fact a MKII originally named Dahlia  <snip> ... at this point it had a female right sponson, eventually returned to bovington when the school moved and then along came Airfix.... <snip>

.... add the above story for effect at dinner parties etc.... for a perfectly accurate model..

Cheers

Ayup Chris in Deutschland...

What a pity... *sigh*  such Cynicism only three posts in. And I've read your post about the 1/76 Romans too...

I hope we can find something for you to like....

Oh, and Welcome to ATF, Best on the Web... possibly.
