The Charity Raffile is one thing that Dave has done to make this Forum special.

I was late to the RNLI raffle and did not donate a prize, but this time around I will be happy to contribute. This set me thinking, I have a number of items which I no longer require and could probably sell on e-bay. For example Airfix Catalogues from the 1970's onwards. However I would be happy for all the proceeds from the sale to go into the pot from the ATF.

Therefore what support would there be for a "blind tender" arrangement? Members list items for disposal where all money goes into the pot, and other members can send a PM indicating the price they are willing pay - highest wins.

This might help increase the sums raised.

Ayup Trainman...

One could 'clear' one's stash of 'unwanted' stuff...

Or make a real donation (a sacrifice, if you will) giving up something that you REALLY want to keep.

good idea.

There is a flaw in this idea (which I do think is great by the way). We could fall foul of the laws relating to auctions and raffles etc. I can run the raffle as I did last time with no need to contact local authorities or the VAT man. Having sales involved (although not directly) with the raffle like suggested above could complicate matters. There will be no problem in accepting donations though!

So, we have to keep the sales separate - and to be seen to be separate - from the raffle. There is no problem with advertising items for sale in the For Sale and Wanted Forum though. However, no mention of the raffle, auction or bids etc must be made and any discussions must be done via PM or email.

BTW, I would be very interested in any Airfix catalogues!

Dave
