At last work has started on my Halifax build, apart from a few tweaks it will be OOB. There is a large amount of flash on some parts especially the U/C parts, also present are a few sink marks but taking into account that this kit is 50 years old being first released in 1961 it is not too bad.
Here are box top, sprues and decals.

<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P4270008.jpg" width="600" height="400">
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P4270009.jpg" width="600" height="400">
With the wings assembled, a dry fit shows no real fit issues.
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P4270010.jpg" width="600" height="400">
Here she is sat on her U/C.
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5020014.jpg" width="600" height="400">
Turrets and engines are under way.
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5020019.jpg" width="600" height="400">
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5020020.jpg" width="600" height="400">
The only fit issue is with the cockpit canopy, plastic strip has been added to the cills to make up the gaps.
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5020021.jpg" width="600" height="400">
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5020023.jpg" width="600" height="400">
My next task will be to paint the cockpit and turrets and then glue it all together.

Cheers John.

Hello everyone, fingers are a bit stiff but l have returned to the modelling bench.
My Halifax has progressed and painting has begun, so here are a few pics.
Rather than complete the airframe l decided to keep the wings and fuselage seperate and paint them as sub assembleys.
Here the wings have had a coat of dark earthand paper masks have been added ready for the dark green.
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5180025.jpg" width="600" height="400">
Dark green has been sprayed and the masks removed.
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5180028.jpg" width="600" height="400">
Exhaust collector rings have been painted, and after a coat of Klear decals applied.
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5260035.jpg" width="600" height="400">
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5260033.jpg" width="600" height="400">
Here we see  the canopy has been filled and blended in to the fuselage and polished with Micro Mesh,
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5180026.jpg" width="600" height="400">
The fuselage joints have been filled and sanded and dark grey applied to the joints, the grey helps to highlight any areas that need further sanding and filling.
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5250031.jpg" width="600" height="400">
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5250032.jpg" width="600" height="400">
All windows on the fuselage have been masked and a coat of dark earth applied.
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5260036.jpg" width="600" height="400">
Friday the 13th carried yellow stripes on the tail planes which are supplied as decals, however l decided to paint the tails yellow and mask the stripes for a better finish, the propeller tips were also sprayed at the same time.
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5260037.jpg" width="600" height="400">
<img src="http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/af171/albrite_photos/P5250029.jpg" width="600" height="400">
My next task will be to mask and paint the green on the fuselage and then the black undersides.
Onwards and upwards.
Cheers John.

You've made a fantastic job of rectifying the canopy fit problems. This is going to look 'the business'.
