On the 21st April 2007, the Airfix Tribute Forum will be celebrating it's first anniversary. To celebrate, I thought it would be nice to have an Anniversary Group Build. For my sins, I will be the Group Build Leader. It will be a fun build and you can build what you like and how you like. For example you can build a plane OOB, stick a load of bits from your spares box onto a tank, do a "what-if", make a crazy diorama or anything else - the wackier the better! There is only one rule - the main kit must be Airfix.

The ATF First Anniversary Group Build has it's own forum here.

If you wish to take part in the Group Build, you must sign on using the Usergroups link at the top of the screen (above the Log in/Log out link).

Important: Do NOT sign up as a participant of a Group Build if you only want to view the threads!

To take part in the Group Build:

Click on "Usergroups"

In the "Join a Group" section, select "Group Build - ATF Anniversary 1"

Click "View Information"

Click on "Join Group".

When your membership of the Usergroup is confirmed, you will be given your own thread in the ATF First Anniversary Group Build Forum to post details of your build.

That's all there is to it!

If you are not sure how Group Builds work, you can read the rules here.

Dave

The build will start on the 21st of April and run for the usual 2 months? Just to clarify - I did check the calender but it's not on yet!
Best

Yes it is the 21st April and runs for two months. I am editing the Group Builds Status thread (calendar) right now!

I'm up for this one 100%!

I might try and trace down what I was building exactly a year ago, and try and build it again, but better!

Sounds a good idea, Owen. According to your first post in the "Models on the go" thread, you said at that time -

"I've just finished (almost) my captured opel blitz. I will submit pictures over time, and add to the reviews (its a shame that all ratches hard work and effort gone into his numerous reviews has been destroyed). I've also started on an M3A1 this weekend, and this, aswell as the blitz will be going on my diorama.

Other models to look forward to soon include the BoBMF (in the post), and a STUGIII (also for the diorama)
"

I had started on my splinter camo TSR2 at that time and it's still not finished!

It might be worth me making the BoBMF Set, 3 kits in two months shouldn't be too hard. I'll have moved house by then (I'm going in March ) and should have a modelling desk in one form or another! I've never got round to making that yet!

Don't worry Michael, as I said earlier it is up to you what you make and how you make it. You can just make a kit straight out of the box with no extras. It's the taking part that counts.

I will probably do two builds. One will be "normal" and the other will be a "silly" one. I haven't decided on the "normal" build yet but the "silly" one will be a weird floatplane using two HMS Belfast hulls as the floats with parts from various aircraft!

I have now locked this thread as we now have an ATF First Anniversary Forum, here.
