Your build makes me think of mine ... But I'm not sure the colors you've used for bridges to be correct.
During my research for the Hotspur in 44 documents indicate a slightly bluish gray color and not red or brown (the bridges of this class destroyers were not made of wood).
Have you used the WEM etched set?

Friendship Remy

Hi, RN Destroyers main bridges were made by "corticene", this may had two colours. Early ships (ante Tribals), normally, "wear" the "RED" one.
I used some railing from WEM.

You're the Master.
To the next.

This is the Airfix HMS Hotspur modelled as HMS Hero done in Western Approaches colors. The kit needs extensive cleaning up. I also drilled out porthole and added anchor chains. The PE is generic railings and such. I added the funnel grates and depth charge racks from some etched grid sheets I had. I added some detail to the torpedo tubes and the walls around the midship gun and searchlight decks. I wanted it to look as nice as I could make it without resorting to an expensive made-to-order PE set and/or major surgery/scratch building.

Just askin' but why did my new topic of the Airfix 1/600 HMS Hero get removed and my post moved to under the HMS Leander?

It appears somebody had inadvertantly added your build to the HMS Leander thread instead of the HMS Hotspur thread. It has now been moved to it's correct location.

Great build btw.

That's a very good looking destroyer Paul.  Great work.

Some beautiful builds of a true Airfix classic. Here's my humble HMS Hotspur effort, from the destroyers set, built & painted as per the instructions.
Neat & tidy enough, but not a patch on some of the others above.  As you can see, I tidied up & glued the kit stands on to a piece of thick plastcard.
