No, this is not one of those posts saying you cannot post Airfix images - quite the reverse! I recently asked for official permission from Airfix to allow members to post pictures of Airfix box-arts, catalogue pictures, flyers etc without having to resort to asking Airfix each and every time. Darrell Burge, Marketing Manager of Airfix has now responded and has given us permission to post them. This is great news as we can enhance the forum with lots more pictures and not rely on links. I also do not have to keep pestering Airfix each time we want to publish flyers etc.

When posting Airfix images, please bear in mind the following points:

- Do NOT change the images either by cropping, defacing or by any other means.

- Do NOT interfere with the Airfix, Humbrol or Hornby logos, copyright notices etc (ie. they not should not be removed, defaced etc.)

- Should you have a requirement to change an image in some way, then Darrell's approval will be required via myself. Until that approval is given, the modified image should NOT be posted.

- Having this permission does NOT entitle us to hot-link to Airfix images on other sites or use images from other sites without the permission of those site owners.

- This does not apply to any non-Airfix manufacturer for which normal copyright rules apply. i.e. If you haven't got permission, then you have to use a link instead. The only exception is that you can photograph a box and it's contents, provided that the images are for research or education purposes and that you make clear that you made the image.

Please do not abuse this privilege. Pictures help make the forum look much more interesting and I would hate for the Airfix ones to be removed because we fail to post them properly. If you need any advice, contact any member of the Moderator Team or myself.

BTW, we can now get cracking on the History of Airfix Kits section which still needs a lot of pictures to complete it. So, if you have lots of Airfix box-arts or old Airfix catalogues, then get scanning! To help you out the title of every kit requiring a box-art is annotated with an asterisk (*) in the History of Airfix Kits Index. Brian (BAC) is the custodian of the History of Airfix Kits and you should contact him if you can help us.
