I'm going through a bit of post-war Luftwaffe phase at the minute, having just completed a G91 & working on a Thunderstreak, Alpha Jet & Starfighter.

I know that Airfix boxed the following 1/72 aircraft with post-war Luftwaffe decal options at certain times:

1. Fiat G91 Gina
2. Alpha Jet
3. F-104 Starfighter
4. F-84 Thunderstreak
5. Fouga Magister
6. The MRCA Tornado (well, sort of.. the prototype scheme)

Were there any others? Did the Phantom ever come with a Luftwaffe scheme (I guess a Luftwaffe F4F could be built from it)?

The Harvard was used by the Luftwaffe post-war but you would have to make up the markings yourself.

The Germans also used the F86E/F Sabre. I'm not sure about the D version. You could use the Heller decals on the Airfix E/F.
I dont recall the F4 Phantom 2 ever coming with Luftwaffe decals.
The Germans were part of the Tripartite team that evaluated the Kestrel/ Harrier 1.

I don't know if you do helicopters but there's the:

Airfix 1/72 MBB BO 105C Helicopter

http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.o ... bb+bo+105c

and the:

Airfix 1/72 Sikorsky VFW CH-53G/CH-53D Assault Helicopter

http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.o ... korsky+vfw

both with post war German markings.

I think the first issue of the 1/72 scale Tornado GR.1 had a German scheme as well as the RAF one.

The Hawker Sea Hawk had a Marinefleiger scheme, but that's not quite the Luftwaffe.

Plasty, who were the West German importers of Airfix, issued the G.91 and F-104 in the late 1960s with special decal sheets covering all the Luftwaffe units that had the types.

Again not with decals but I believe the Germans use the Sea King

It depends whether you are strictly doing West German Luftwaffe, or German forces post-war. The helicopters are used by the Heer.

The 1984 re-tooled Westland Seaking included West German Marineflieger markings as well as the Yellow RAF SAR version.

You forgot the Eurofighter Typhoon - that comes with GAF markings IIRC

For other aircraft that the GAF have used that don't come with decals to portray them as such you have the following:

NA F-86D Sabre Dog (Could pretend its a K - looks similar)
BAC Canberra B2/20 - Old Tooling - used as a target tug
OV-10A Bronco - Target Tug
C-47 Dakota
Mig-29 Fulcrum - used after re-unification for a while
Mig-23 Flogger - used after re-unification for a while
Mil-24 Hind D - used after re-unification for a while
DH Heron II
F-4E Phantom "tweaked" to represent an early F-4F Phantom
1/144 Boeing 707

If including Marinefleiger then there's
Seaking
Navy Lynx

HEER has the aforementioned
Bo 105
CH-53G

I might have missed some

Stuimpy 17 - The East Germany wasn't supplied with SU-27 Flankers so none were taken on charge in the new German Air Force.
This was the same with other countries in the Warsaw Pact who didn't receive the Flanker either.

DH764 In answer to your  question the Kestrel in its Tripartite evaluation carried a special "Tri Partite" roundel and fin flash reflecting the three nations involved - GB, Germany, USA.

The roundel was split into three equal parts
One 3rd being as standard hi-viz RAF Roundel - Red, White, Blue,
One 3rd being the German Part with same roundel dimensions as the RAF part but being Black, Red, Golden-Yellow superimposed over this was a miniature German Cross.
The last 3rd representing the US was a light blue background with a miniature Stars-n-bars superimposed.

There was also a three nation fin flash consisting of 3 lots of closely spaced vertical bars. from left to right being Lt Blue, White, Red (GAP) Blue, White, Red (GAP) Golden-Yellow, Red, Black

Thanks for the info. remember reading an article several years ago. must have been confusing the Flanker and the Fulcrum.

Made a start on the theme, and here's the work so far... all decal options OOB.

Image

Clockwise from topleft: Republic F-84F Thunderstreak, Lockheed F-104G Starfighter, Dassault-Breguet Alpha Jet and Fiat G.91R.

Really enjoying this theme... work's underway on Airfix Fouga Magister & Tornado, plus Heller T-33A, F-104T & F86 Sabre.

When you're doing the F86 you have the choice of camouflage or NMF on it.

Cheers Fred... it'll be wearing camo, as will the Fouga Magister.

NMF Luftwaffe just looks wrong!

Can i also add to your list of aircraft the Canberra......3 aircraft...If I remember rightly were used for target towing. A nice colourful addition to all the camouflaged aircraft
