I dunno!  You flipping Southerners are pansies! :sofa: ... :rotfl:

Not particularly cold up here in Cumbria, but we had shocking winds and sheeting rain last night!

SWMBO has bought the three of us 'Slankets' from Lakeland.  They are blankets with sleeves - in an attempt to cut down on the amount of fuel we will use this year.  They are great if you are just sitting watching the telly or reading or something.  ... Mind you we all look like OAPs before our time!  But who cares?

My advice, Stu, though would be to put the long trousers on and replace the t-shirt with a shirt and a wooly jumper!  ... And keep smiling!  :D

As to Whiskey Stu, It's out of bounds until after 5pm Unfortunately...

Living in the most favourable climate in Canada ... it rarely gets really cold. The coldest I've experienced on the island was -19C on Dec 20, 2008. It reached -6C max that day. Earlier this year, though, 3rd-born and I hiked a little further than I thought we'd have to to reach a frozen waterfall (in -26C)

in the Rockies. It was pretty. The waterfall, not us. I had to buckle poor 3rd-born up in the car because his hands were useless. We were dressed for a car-ride, not a hike. It was some time before I regained feeling in my ears and nose. Later, though, we relaxed at the Radium spa.

This is how we were dressed for snowmobiling, and we didn't get cold doing that:

The slanket sounds like a solid idea. They might have a different name over here. Cuddly? Something like that.

Nah, that's 3rd Born. He's skinny, but not buff (and he'd be the first to admit it). His brothers are a little more gym-enthusiastic, but he's borderline plain lazy*. :)

* i.e. on the border between plain lazy and bone lazy. Academically he's ok, but still on the lazy side. Physically, he just gets by.

A balmy plus 6 in Toulouse. We're getting weird weather at the moment. 6 degrees at 9 or 10 in the morning but 26 by about 4 in the afternoon. 'tain't normal. Should be about 15 max in the day at this time of year here. My lawn's brown....!

I blame all those aeroplanes flying around and 'doing global warming'. Still, judging by Stu's -6 it looks like you lot in the frozen north need to do a bit more flying around

Over the last few days the overnight lows have been down around -12C here just east of the Rocky Mountains, but then up to about +12C during the day.  Been really dry as of late though but the weather forecast keeps threatening us with snow. Fortunately, the harvest is in early this year.

Warming up -- how about a few wobbly pops around the fire pit.

I don't have an up-to-date pic, this was a couple of years ago.

Well, it's a balmy* -196 Celsius here on Beta Cassiopea IV.
Don't like the look of those Methane showers on the horizon though...  :airhead:

When I visited home earlier today, it was rather windy, temperature about 8C.

* Yer can spell that 2 ways...
