Something I've not seen before (although suspect it's been done) is playing around with different scales in a dio to acheive forced perspective.

For example I'm thinking of building a 1:72nd scale Swordfish attacking a 1200th Bismark. Viewed from behind the Swordfish on a sloping waterscape to try and simulate distance.

Then there are mixed formations with small distant aircraft, larger in front. Or dios that combine small and large soldiers.

Just wondered in anyone has tried or seen this done?
I've seen some examples in museums especially with soldiers and they work quite well.

It has and I've seen a few on here...planes flying above ships, that type of thing, pretty good stuff!

Should be an interesting project.

Model railway modellers do occasionally mix different scale buildings to create depth on some of their layouts.

I was going to mention Ratch's (above).  I have been planning for some time doing a Vietnam diorama using a 1/72 Cessna Bird Dog, 1/72 figures and 1/285 aircraft and trucks.

I have also considered dioramas using 1/72 or 1/48 aircraft and 1/144 and/or 1/285 aircraft.  There is at least one other example of a forced perspective model on the forum. ...

Yes, that's the sort of thing. Very interesting models there. Will have a crack at the Swordfish and see what happens.

Not tried it yet myself but seen a picture in "The Plastic Modellers Compendium" I bought many years back of three Me262's one each in 1:48; 1:72 & 1:144 and it looked effective

:rotfl:
That's because you can only play with perspective if it by mutual consent, it must never be forced  :sofa:
