As the old Airfix forums with all our votes are now gone, I thought I'd start another vote thread (with the title borrowed from Zero-X's first poll). The results of that poll were

1 2 3
14 3 6 1/72  Nimrod MR.2/MRA.4
6 2 4 1/48  Canberra
6 2 2 1/72  Canberra
5 4 4 1/72  Valiant (Vickers)
4 3 1 1/72  Lightning

The first three in this list have been, or are going to be, released by Airfix! So, I think its a good time to start another poll. This will be done manually. The rules of the poll are

1) You must list three subjects, no more and no less, along with the scale you want, and in the order you want the subject.
2) No sets, other than that of figures. The model has to be an individual subject.
3) New kits only. No reissues.

For example, my entry is

1) 1/600 HMS Dreadnought
2) 1/144 N-1 Soviet Moon Rocket
3) 1/144 2001: A Space Odyssey Discovery 1

Does it have to be Airfix, or can it be someone a little more likely to actually release the things?

All have to be in 'True 1/72' scale injection plastic.....Surprise,surprise!

1 - Pz.II Ausf L Luchs (Early & Late)

2 - A34 Comet

3 - Char B1 Bis

Note that the BIG ARMOUR modellers have recently received the last two on my list, so there may be hope.....Come on Dragon, you can do it!

For what it's worth & all the best

Please remember to include the scale for all model types, peeps!

Very important that - especially for us ship wallahs who have been waiting forever to see a 1/600 HMS Dreadnought! We don't really want it to appear in 1/400 scale!

Dave

It is strictly for Airfix to release. Believe it or not they do listen - TSR2, Nimrod and Canberra are proof of that! If it hadn't been for the long and hard fought campaigns on the old Airfix forum (and possibly elsewhere) then they would probably have never appeared.

I'm not sure what is on the horizons for the AFV bods but I'm sure that they will release new kits - providing there is a big enough demand from us.

I also ran a survey for four months on my web site to find out what 1/600 ships modellers would like to see. Airfix kept a close eye on the survey and requested copies of the final results. They were also very aware of the votes for ship models on the old site and I know that they look very closely at some of those requests.

1/72 Vickers Valiant

1/72 HP Victor B2 with Bluesteel

1/72 Spitfire F21

Just as Airfix did the three main WW2 heavies then I'd love to see them do the V Force! Now that would be a gift set worth having!!

Dave,

I really hope that they do listen.....I'm afraid that Airfix have let small scale armour modellers down for too long. The release of the Jeep & the GMC in conjunction with Heller gave us hope but then.....The Matilda Hedgehog?

Whoever had they been listening to? Not the small scale armour community clearly!

They appear to have made a hasty and ill thought out decision without any apparent consultation with the hobbyists and it may come back to bite them in the assets!

All the best

P.S. - Businessman, I believe that the Airfix C47 Gunship was in 1/72 scale not 1/48, unless they did another kit that I've missed completely - I'm quite a big fan of 'Puff The Magic Dragon' and his ilk!

Well here's my current wants list. All AFVs - in 1/72 scale, which means the carrier would grow quite a bit !

1) re-tooled Crusader II/III

2) re-tooled Bren/Universal Carrier

3) re-tooled 'British' M5 half-track

All about as likely as England winning the World Cup...
