It is time to consider the subject for the next Military Vehicle Group Build, following are the subjects that have been suggested so far, if there are any other ideas please post them here and we can consider them and add them to the list if deemed suitable. I will put up a poll in about a week’s time.

Land  Rover  (Dan)

German Armour (stuzzar)

Bristol Bloodhound (Arpie)

Half track & Soft Skin vehicles (Fred)

Post War conflict in E/SE Asia (Realthing/rileyjm03)

Desert War (Typhoon Tom)

Northern Ireland (rileyjm03)

Any Airfix Military Vehicle Conversion (lancfan)

Airfix Armoured Animals* (Fred)

Airfix “poly” vehicles 1/76 or 1/32 (Captain Farrell)

Airfix King Tiger (Top Dog 22)

Cheers

Does Desert War include Afghanistan? If not, given the new releases, it might be worth including as a theme.

Well its Sandy and dusty and doesn't rain a lot so i'd say the Afghanistan kits could be included.

Could also include all of the many middle eastern conflicts, Arab/Israeli wars, Iraq/Iran etc, lots of opportunity for T34 and Sherman conversions not to mention Panzer IVs, STuGs, Chieftans, Centurions and M113s

What about an airfix british/american armoured vehicles GB, so any airfix british/american military vehicles can be built.

Or we could do the same but for the Axis forces, so thats all the Nazi ones as well as the Chi Ha tank

Could we make these suggestions any more far-reaching  :?:  Perhaps a build any vehicle you like GB, then we'd only need one GB that runs forever

Anyone fancy a Matilda Tank GB? the normal gun tank has been re-released now giving us two kit versions plus conversions to go at.

There is plenty of choice in the Airfix range in various scales for an Allied armour build, this could of course include the recently released Matilda & Lee/Grant, so I think there could be plenty of interest in this suggestion  :thumb:

We already have the German armour GB suggested, perhaps I can change that to German/Axis armour?

The only new tool out of those is the King Tiger and that is already covered either by the specific King Tiger GB or the German armour GB.

As mentioned earlier the Matilda and Lee/Grant could be built under the proposed Allied armour GB or even the Desert War GB unless of course there is specific interest in a GB based on either of these as individual subjects.

To be honest the group builds that feature the same specific kit are my favourites and are of course the more traditional type of group build and I note that we already have TimJ, Lancfan and yourself interested in a Matilda GB. I will let this discussion run a  little longer to see how others feel and then I will put the pole together (perhaps on Monday).

Cheers

Stu

I would be interested in the Matilda build. I need to build at least 3 or 4 of these, so would be happy to do it as part of a GB.

I was thinking of a similar number, Gun Tank, Hedgehog, CDL & ARV.

The next Military Vehicle Group Build will be the Airfix King Tiger Group Build featuring, as the title suggests, the new Airfix King Tiger Tank kit or conversions thereof.

The poll has now been set up for the vote to select the start date of the Airfix King Tiger Group Build.

The poll itself is in a separate forum which is visible to all members to view the suggested dates. To vote in the poll or make a post in the poll thread, you must  sign up for the Airfix King Tiger Group Build using the Usergroups link at the top of the screen (above the Log in/Log out link).

Important: DO NOT sign up as a participant of a Group Build if you only want to view the threads!

Stuzzar (me) will be the Group Build Leader, if you wish to take part in the Group Build, as stated above, you must sign up using the Usergroup link at the top of the screen (above the Log in/Log out link)

To take part in the Group Build:

Click on "Usergroups"

In the "Join a Group" section, select " Airfix King Tiger"

Click "View Information"

Click on "Join Group".

Stuzzar will then approve your membership to the build and set up a build thread for you in the relevant section once the start date has been decided upon.

Cheers

Stu

Please note that the start date poll has now closed, the Airfix King Tiger Group Build will take place from Saturday 8th December 2012 to Saturday 9th February 2013.

I have requested the thread to be put in place, as soon as this is done I will create the individual build threads etc.

Cheers

Stu
