I have a few Airfix cars and want to lead a Group Build making one or two of them. I would probably make the Airfix Volkswagen and/or Aston Martin.

So, if you are interested, cast your vote now. This poll will run for two weeks.

I would be interested, but as Cars, Motorbikes and Railways Guru, the GB cannot be just on 'Cars' as the range of kits available is too great. A Peugeot GB or a MGB Build for example would be better, enabling other Car Group Builds of different subjects to be used for GB's in the future.

I've voted for a GB in Six Months time or more.

Actually, I announced a long time ago (before Gurus were set up) that there would be a general Cars GB and it has been in the Group Build calendar for months. We've just never had a start date. So, it is going ahead.

There is plenty of time for specific GBs and if somebody wants a Peugeot or Rally Car or any other specific car build, then they should propose them. Up till now, the silence has been deafening.

I have an Alfa in my stash, and it's been nearly 25 years since I last made a car, so I'll have a bash. I've voted for 3-6 months, but anytime would be okay really.

That's strange, I used to have one of those

I've got an Airfix Peugeot 206 and a Subaru Imprezza in 1:43 and a Heller 1:24 Subaru Imprezza which I think is the one Airfix were re-boxing. I've also got my Airfix 1:32 Bentley that needs finishing off too as I need a new wheel for it.

I'd completely forgotten - the jewel in my stash is the Airfix 1/12 Bentley. However, I don't think I'd do that for the group build!

Well, the voting is over with a tie. I have set up a poll to vote for the actual date, with two dates in the next three months and two afterwards. To access the poll, participants should read the instructions in this thread.

Hi Nigel,

The GB will be taking place from 1st September until 1st November 2007. You should sign up via the Usergroups link at the top of the page to "Group Build - Airfix Cars #1".

BTW, the forum for the Group Build will be set up later on tonight.

Dave
