Thanks again for the advice Loll!!

Two coats of Hu128 applied, first last night and second this morning.

Don't think another coat is necessary so next job is to wait for this to dry and then apply the Hu117 (US Light Green) and also repair the skid I snapped off.

First coat of Hu117 went on this morning. I used this colour for the deck of my HMS Fearless and I think it might need three coats all together, we'll see anyway after I apply a second tonight.

Also painted the engine and exhaust and the rotors in Hu117.

Looking good Paul.  The Gazelle is an elegant aircraft - might have to see if I can get hold of one.

I must admit I quite like the way it's put together.

3 coats of Hu117 have been applied, the rotors I think could do with another so I'll do that tonight.
I'll also clean up the engine and exhaust with Hu56 (Aluminium).

All that's left to do then is add two coats of Klear and decal which I shall do tomorrow then two coats of Satin coat.
Should have completed pics up on satruday!!

I forgot that I had to go to hospital yesterday so I didn't get chance to due as much as I had hoped.

All of the assembly has been put together, but after hours of drving I was tired and damaged the rear rotor   .

Replacement part for the starboard door arrived today so I'll fit that, then mask and paint it later today or tomorrow (can't miss six nations!!)

Probably looking at Monday for finishing and some more pics.

Touched up the rear rotor yeststerday and today.

Yesterday I fitted and masked the starboard door, then gave it it's first coat of paint, gave it a second today and I think that should do.

Two coats of Klear tomorrow and then the decals, should be able to give a coat of satin coat aswell.

Finished at last, but photobucket is under going site maintentance so I'll have to wait for pictures.

Decals were really quite thick and took alot of persuation to settle down in some instances even though I was using Humbrol decal fix. Is the microl sol/set combo any better?

Try white vinegar and a very SMALL drop of washing up liquid.
or white vinegar and a small drop of screenwash.

Having used Decalfix I can recommend Microsol/Microset. Much better system, gets the decals in place and really conforms them. I found the Decalfix didn't do a lot and in some cases left a white "tidemark" residue. Can't wait to see the finished pictures!

I've used both and never had to switch from one to the other

I accidently knocked over my bottle of Decalfix this morning whilst decalling my HMS Fearless, so I only have about a quarter of a bottle left so I think I'll try micro so/set as I have found that Decalfix leaves a mark sometimes.

So will Micro-sol/set  a damp tissue removes it when the decals are set. Even decals on their own can leave a stain if not cleaned carefully before the final sealing coat of Klear or varnish. It's really a matter of luck.

Thanks for the advice. I do try to remove it all but I'm usually frightened that I'll move or, even worse, damgae the decal.

Decals are fairly safe once set and dry, provided you don't rub at them. Except for those nice little beasties which just never stay on  !

A particular problem with some Revell kits, I've found.
