You can get cream for that - I get lots of e-mails offering it at very reasonable prices...
I've got one of those too, but I'm leaning towards my Seasprite at the moment. Will you be doing yours in the Bond scheme? _________________ Cheers,

It took me a little while to understand what you were talking about. I get those emails too, so they must know their target market pretty well!
Yes, I'll be doing it in the Bond scheme _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill |

I'm in Edmonton for the next two nights. I'll be back home on Saturday, and will break open Little Nellie then. Incidentally, I picked up some other Airfix Helos recently, including the Lynx Mk 8, old boxing of the CH-53 (Desert One, anyone?) amongst others. I think I'll just stick to the Little Nellie for the time being, though. _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill |

I started by cementing my Sean Connery figure together. It fits together with little fuss - just a bit of pressure needed on the feet halves. I used MEK for glue.
Then, I put the fuselage nacelle halves together, and opened up holes for the machine guns. Again, the fit was ok. I didn't use any filler, but I used a bit of sandpaper. As the finish will be glossy / metallic, I will finish off the sanding with a coat of MEK.
The holes for the machine guns are a little out-of-whack. I used my Dremel to open them out a little more on the inside, so that the machine guns weren't "lazy-eyed". I'm still not sure whether they should be pointing upwards, as they seem to be ...
I think that the holes are not open at all, and guns are faired in quite tightly, like a Spitfire's cannon, so some filler will be needed. In retrospect, it might have been better to simply install barrels from the exterior.
On an aside, I was inspired to do a bit of research and construction on My CH 53. Unlike Gerry, I had no trouble with the plastic's ductility, and I am almost at the stage of closing up the fuselage halves. _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill |

Isn't the attitude a bit nose-down when it's in flight _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here

I don't know, Ratch. In a dive, it would have to be. I imagine, though, that it could be level in level flight, as opposed to a fixed-wing craft which almost always has a nose-up attitude (Whitley being a notable exception). There might be a bit of fiddling around with this one!
I neglected to mention that I tried to reintroduce the working feature of the rocket pod by shoving a spring from a biro inside. The spring was too large in diameter, as well as being too long, but the idea may come to fruition eventually. Yes, I know that accuracy will be compromised ... so I might only do it on one of the pods!
By the way, there is this video of the actual machine (bear in mind that it's painted, to my eye, more of a lemon yellow than it was in the movie):

Put them all on one decal ..
No, they really shouldn't be there if you want Sean in the pilot seat. _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill |

Here is my nacelle. Fitted, filled, sanded, polished, painted silver, masked with post-it notes and painted good old MI-6 RLM 04

um ... um .... um ... no. Was I supposed to drill these out from the inside?
Thanks for the compliments on the silver. It could have been more polished, but it's ok. The trick to it is to use SnJ polishing powder, over a very smooth metallic base. I didn't use the smoothest of metallic bases (metalcote polished aluminium would have been better, but I only had Testors non-buffing aluminium). In retrospect, I would have used Testors buffing metalizer stainless steel (I don't have the 'polished aluminium' to hand at the moment). |

The 17th March is fast approaching, so I might make a bit of effort on this today. _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill |
