I'm going to go with 2 x GR3's in experimental colour schemes from RAFG in 1984. That is because the 2 in my stash don't have any decals in them.
If I get chance I will build a GR1, if there is time. |

Here is a shot of the 2 GR.3's I will be doing. Plus the other 2 I will do if I get chance towards the end.
The second GR.3 came from the Hunter, Lightning and Harrier box set.
Plus progress so far.

More photos of progress so far
There's two coats on the upper surface at the moment and one coat on the underside of the green one.
I am going to try and get a second coat on the underside of the green one this afternoon as I'm away this weekend. |

I'm mainly working on the Green one at the moment.
Here are a few more shots of the progress so far.
Second coat of litchen green is on. Just need to touch up and paint the wheels. |

| Been working hard this weekend. Both planes have had a coat of Klear, decals added and then a second coat of Klear. I will post photos when I have given them a coat of satin. |

All finished. Put 2nd coat of satincote on last night. The flash has made them both appear very glossy.
First, 3 Sqn, RAF Gutersloh, 1984.
Second, 4 Sqn, RAF Gutersloh, 1984.
I'll post a few more photos in the gallery. |

Very interesting schemes. Could you share any more information about these paint jobs? _________________ “Build what YOU want, the way YOU want to, and above all, have fun.”

The 2 aircraft were delivered from RAF St Athan too trial 2 tone schemes. The GR.3 fleet never adopted them but the GR.5 did take on the 2 tone green scheme. It must have been a look at what was best at low level. In the end grey won.
I'm going to move on now to the RAF 90th GB now.
Cheers everyone. |
