Canopies are now on, aerial wire fitted and decals applied.  Just got to pop on a couple of layers of MattCote, touch up some areas and it's done.  Could this be another one finished before the deadline ?

All finished.  One or two rough edges, as ever, but I'm fairly pleased with it.  Looks like a Beaufighter to me!

In the end, the decals were a combination of spares (fuselage roundels & tail bars from the Airfix Typhoon I built last year), aftermarket (wing roundels & code letters) and kit originals (serials, nose code letter & various stencils). You should be able to see that the hyphen in the fuselage codes is slightly lighter than the letters - I used the kit decal and it was out of register and translucent!

More pics in the gallery.

Good build Adrian, but one thing to remember is that the red segment of the fin flash (tail bars?!) always faces front on British military aircraft.

D'oh!  I can never remember which way it goes... Having said that, I checked the instructions, and it looked like the red was at the back - difficult to tell in black and white of course.  Should have just looked at the box

But you knew what I meant... do you just sit there waiting to correct me when I give things the wrong name?
