I don't know if some of You remember this old board game "Battletech" - now there is a craze for Mechwarrior Online, a great game I heard, but in 1980's and 1990's the board game was captivating - there was a possibility to play, create one's own Mech, buy or draw new boards... but most of all, there were this wonderful tiny models inside, Mech's in roughly 1:285 scale that I could stare at for hours.

Luckily for me, these early models were licensed copies of other designes from Japan. So I had a chance to get my hands on some of them in my favourite scale and make them in my favourite, SLDF livery. Here they come:

Those are great, I particularly like the 'Rifleman'.....I believe these 1/72 kits may pre-date Battlemech, they are rare and expensive things these days! 8-)

Not really. They are not cheap - those two about 30 USD each - but still available. Warhammer and Longbow are much more detailed (new tooling) and cost app. 100 USD but are in production.

The main issue is that officiially these are not "battlemechs" anymore due to some complicated franchise ownership issue back in the '80s - '90s. They were removed from all official game imagery and are called "unseens" ever since.

Any chance you could point me towards a Rifleman for sale at that price.....I'm an ex Battletech gamer (I have all of the original FASA stuff prior to the Clans, which ruined the whole Battletech milieu IMHO).
