Hi Iain, your membership is approved. :thumb: It will soon be time for those poor, long suffering U.N.I.T. troops to face more enemies from beyond the Solar System. :fear:

I thunked a think, and got an idea. I've bought a certain model via ebay, awaiting delivery. I will build that model as my offering within the Dr. Who build.
The model is not one you would normally envision fits the Dr. Who theme. It will need a bit of plasticard and carving to make it just right though.

Most intriguing, Fred  Thinking about it, it would be possible to use any Airfix product for a Dr.Who build with the right back ground story. :airhead:

I failed on my Dr.Who build - but I'm still going to finish it.

In the mean-time; can we think of another subject? Does it have to be an actually story-line?
I was thinking of H.G.Wells' story "The Time Machine". In the 1960s film the prof stops off at certain periods. So how about a 'Time Machine' sort-of one. It would be really diorama based. One could if one wishes build the time machine but a modern figure juxtaposed with past or future. Something along those lines.

Discuss and essay of 100,000 words by Monday 9am.

Whoa! Just had flashbacks from 25 years ago at school, need to go lie down for a bit, was very traumatising. :joker:

I like Freds time machine idea - potential for silliness abounds :)

It's been a long, long time since this place saw any real action. I really do fancy a Sci-Fi build now that I actually have a couple of kits. Does anybody else fancy a go? All of the old Star Wars kits, the Orion spacecraft, the Eagle transporter, the Angel Interceptor and the Dr Who kits, amongst others. Conversions of standard aircraft, mil vehicle or car kits to those seen in sci-fi movies or TV programmes etc. What does anyone think? Are there enough of us out there to pull something like this off?

Dan

I'll join in if I can find some cheap Star Wars kits.
I have a Millennium Falcon but a few bits are already glued so Ratch will ban it. Its going to be built this year anyway as it will be on display at The Model Show, Stockport, Christmas 2015 to tie in with Star Wars The Force Awakens.

Good point Tom no idea how I didn't think of the tie in (pun intended!) with the new movie.

I guess that my post infers my proposal is for a general job because there aren't many sci-fi kits out there in the current range and the one released most recently - the Angel Interceptor - already had its own single theme build.

Well, it looks like there's some limited interest. Might Steven start a Poll, do you think?

I'd be interested in a sci-fi/space build. Particularly Star Trek ones but a lot of them are expensive now.
A poll would be good to see what areas others are interested in

I hear where your coming from but Airfix hasn't made any Star Trek kits

I know they didn't/haven't yet. I meant to say that that is where my interest lies but am open to other sci-fi/space subjects depending on kit prices from various sources

I would be potentially interested in this GB but I would build a Whif of some sort, but then hey, it is Science Fiction. :)

Sorry for not replying earlier. I've been flat out like a lizard drinking. I've started a poll on a Science Fiction Group Build.
