I first built this kit about twenty years ago and thought it was great. Then, when I opened the box for this one it was pretty clear that the mold hasn't held up well. Flash, flash, flash and I had the feeling the canopy was short shot. So, I went for a crash diorama. The engine is scratch built, the cowling machine guns were spares from my Italeri Do 217, the technical air intelligence guys are just Airfix RAF personnell repainted (and inspecting the supercharger), the truck is also Airfix form the RAF vehicle set, and some of my neighbours are now convinced I'm mad because I was outside collecting twigs in the rain earlier.

Very cool. I've always liked crash-site dioramas and finally made one last year. I think I'll be doing more.
Great work on scratch-building the engine. You can buy them as aftermarket parts but that's nowhere near as much fun. :D

Aftermarket is cheating. That's an opinion that's bound to be controversial here, but I'll stand by it. And thanks for the complement.

You must have this forum mixed up with another one. This is the land of carving parts from bread clips.
