Just spent the last two days and will be spending the next two at the Bournemouth Air show recruiting for the ATC. First day was sunshades and shorts, today was very wet until about 3pm then the sun came out just in time for the Red Arrows display. Typhoon night time display was spectacular. :Tonka1:

I was at Bournemouth on Thursday for a great show in fabulous weather. The previous day I paid a visit to Bovington, which was also fantastic and incorporated a live display from a Scorpion, FV432, Saracen and a very noisy Leopard. Phf03 found the tank and Red Arrows hawks a bit too noisy, and the WW1 trench display a bit scary... I wish I could've stayed longer at the tank museum. On a rainy Friday I also discovered a very nice LMS on Poole High St called Setchfields, where I may or may not have added to my stash (it doesn't count if I'm on holiday).

I visited the North Weald Redoubt yesterday; a Victorian fort in a state of disrepair.

Went to the Bournmouth Airshow on Saturday. Very disappointed as weather was so windy and rainy that it was cancelled til late afternoon. Did get to see a few Hawks and a gunship and a few helicopters but that was it apart from the Red Arrows, but sad as this was my first visit and as others have said, earlier in the week the weather was beautiful.

Is that shop still there ---- I'm amazed. Many a day I spent going through that place back in the 70's, maybe even in the 60's

Scale modelling event at Fort Veldhuis (Fortress Veldhuis) in Heemskerk, the Netherlands. The fortress is a gun emplacement from the end of the 1890s and now houses the museum of Aircraft Recovery Group 40-45. Many recovered and rebuilt aircraft parts on display.

Just had a few days with my eldest lad and his lovely wife. Visited the Cotswolds, St Albans and my birth place, Hastings. Actually found the house my parents stayed in when I was born. Funny, the blue plaque must have fallen off.
Hastings.

I know. I go to a lovely Cotswold village and photograph a Moggie Minor.

St. Albans.

And a day out with my mates at Cosford as soon as I got back home.

I'm getting to old for all this excitement...... Alan.

Went across the border last week, to attend my Niece's Wedding. My Brother In Law, took me to Point Cook Aviation Museum. Point Cook, was Australia's first Air Force Base. I forgot all the paper work, with the info, and left it in Melbourne, so will have to show the pics. The Museum, is only partially open at the moment, as they are renovating, but still a worthwhile visit. The Museum, is just outside Geelong, and is free Admission. Also on certain days, they take up one of their Airworthy Exhibits, and put on a Display, (bonus). Unfortunately my camera, and my photography are not the best, but here's a few pics.
Image
Melbourne's version of the "London Eye", I tried taking a pic of the Melbourne skyline, but my camera has a 3 second lag, from when you push the button, and when it takes the pic, so all I got was a road sign :hithead:
Image
Crossing the West Gate Bridge. During construction, part of the Bridge collapsed, onto a hut which was full of workers having their lunchbreak, I cannot remember how many were killed, but I think it was around 14.

Image
This is where I need a bit of help identifying some of the Aircraft. Looking at the tail, it looks like a De-Havilland of some descript.
Image
CAC CT9 (I think), and Tiger Moth
Image
Definitely a Tiger Moth
Image
Machi, and Vampire

You WW1 experts will have to help me out with this one, (Depercusin?)

F111G, or as the Indigenous Australians called it F1 nudda 1 nudda 1.

Image
CAC Boomerang, and a De Havilland Dragon/Rapide, in the background
Image
Hawker Fury
Image
Bell Iroquois, Cessna O-2, not sure on the other Helicopter, (Dragonfly?)

Another pic slightly different angle
Image
Hull of a PBY5A, and a CAC Jindavik Target Drone.

part of a Tailplane, and Rudder, from a CAC LIncoln.

There was a further 2 Hangars, but these where closed, however, when walking past, the doors were slightly open, and I saw a Supermarine Walrus, and behind it a Douglas Boston/Havoc.

Ah but it were so simple! Y'see, the official name of the place, the name that appears on the name board as you enter the "village" is "Hameau de Larmont" which, literally translated, means "Hamlet of Larmont". So it is a Hamlet in name if not in function...

Nowt's ever simple in France!
Maybe it got it's name before the church but no one has changed the sign? . . . . yet!

Hi all, Today, I was at Williams Racing F1 (again, I go there at least 3 times a week) collecting their mail. I finally plucked up the courage and asked Sir Frank Williams if I could take his photo.
