Heya folks,

Can anyone confirm, that OOB, a Seafire III could be made from this Mk.IX kit? The only worry I really have, is the fuselage. Is it the right shape for a Mk.V/Seafire III?

It looks like everything is in the box that i need, I just want to make sure that the Mk.IX airframe is the same as the Mk.V?

Many thanks

Wing Co.

AFAIR the Mk IX fuselage is longer in the nose section than a V

The nose is longer, also exhausts, oil coolers & props are different between a Mk V & a IX, but I don't know what options are in the box.

Make the IX, then buy an old tool Vb cheaply and use the extra parts on that.

The club kit also has the cut-down rear fuselage, so it is only suitable for the bubble-hooded version of the Mk.IX/XVI. The regular boxing, A05113 has the standard fuselage, but I think fred's option is the best, to use the spares generated from the kit on a Mk.Vb.
