Just wondering if any of our Aussie members went to see the AN225 land in Perth. According to the story on the BBC, there were "tens of thousands" of aircraft enthusiasts - sounds like that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but I can imagine there would be a lot of people who would want to see it.

Unbelievable to think that something weighing 280+ tons (unloaded weight plus payload) can get off the ground!

I think this is it landing at Perth.

1:24 would need it's own hanger. That's over 9 feet long and about the same wingspan.

Yep, they certainly did exaggerate the crowd, it was reported on nightly news here as "a few thousand". Big bird though, went all over an AN-124 back in 1988, superb flying display too!!

Many years ago, they had a C5 Galaxy at (I think) the Air Tattoo at Fairford, and it was open both ends so people (including me!) could walk through it. The crowd inside was more like something you'd get at a football match (in fact, I've been to lower league games with smaller attendances...)
