Okay, perhaps I am being dull, but can anyone answer what should be a simple question to which I'll be blowed if can find the answer anywhere.

Over in the floaty things area, people may have been following the GB that I started last year converting HMS BELFAST to HMS GLASGOW. The Walrus is complete but the intention is to put it on deck rather than on the catapult. White Ensign kindly provide a PE deck handling trolley for this purpose but I cannot see how the aircraft is supposed to sit on it. It is largely triangular in shape - does the vertical side of the triangle go to the front or to the rear and where on the fuselage does it attach? I know that I have seen a photograph of one in use but having spent the past hour or so trawling the internet I cannot find it again. Grateful if anyone can shed any light on this.

Thanks

The deck handling trolley is a triangular, tubular affair with the upright of the triangle fitting to the Walrus at the hull break. Here is a picture from Anatomy of the Ship: HMS Belfast, showing HMS Sheffield's Walrus sitting on the handling trolley.

Or. in normal flying boat terms, the aircraft sits on the trolley with the step just ahead of the cradle.

Thanks both. I couldn't work out which way around it went. Daft thing is, I've got Ross Wotton's book. Perhaps I should have looked on the bookshelf rather than relying on Google!
