I've been considering my options for a while now but having won a Porsche 917 on ebay yesterday I've decided to build it as no. 20 as driven by Steve McQueen in 'Le Mans'.

Never built one before so I'm looking forward to it.

I love that film! Excellent choice. The 917 is a beast.

Any movement on the Porsche Tim? Has it roared into life yet?

Not exactly but I have done a bit of painting.

I'm still not sure whether to have 'Steve McQueen' on board or not.

Looking good, Tim.

If I've got time after the Porsche it'll be coming along next. I bought a DVD box set of Captain Scarlet at the weekend so I've got plenty of reference material.  :D

I can't believe I started this seven years ago but I have got back to it. The gearbox and rear suspension have been painted and assembled.

Image

The body has been painted Ford Bermuda Blue from a Halfords spray can, the underside sprayed with grey primer and the orange brush painted with Hu19.

After some research 'Steve McQueen' has been painted and installed.
