yes Mike; a good friend

The P51D is done;

Next one coming close to the finish;
The old, but nice, Airfix Dassault Super Mystere B2

and work continues on the Panzer IV

I find its best to cut the teeth off the drive sprocket to get the tack links to fit flat and look proper. The teeth are far too big for the tiny holes moulded in the tracks

That is a lovely looking Mustang. Nice posts fred. You have a very nice area for taking photos.

Thanks
The photo set up is as basic as it can be.
A1 sized art-card, light grey. One end is stuffed under the fireplace mantle, the other end is attached to a small occasional table by a single spring clamp. The card is curved, so it has an 'infinity' background. Light is daylight from outside. Camera is mounted on a tripod and I use 'slow', ie fill-in flash.
On the Mystere and tank I swung an angle-poise lamp over to light them, but still used the 'slow' flash.
A basic set up as it seems I might have to rephotograph several of my models to replace PB'd ones. Although I have the originals, some of the photos are not very good and the digital files of some have been corrupted

Panzer and Super Mystere are finished. Photos in my 'Portfolio' and thier specific galleries
Just a taster of each;

Now onwards with other kits on my working trolley

A Frog Miles Master III
Detailing the basic empty cockpit
Image

Frog has the wing edge landing light as a clear part, I've cut away the wingtip lights to do the same, also closed in the wheel wells;
Image

Fuselage closed up; the i/ps and coaming need adding
Image

Something a bit bigger; an Airfix Ilyushin IL-28
Image

Image

Detail added to the pilot's cockpit, also boxed in the nose wheel well and added a load of lead;
Image

Boxed in the main wheel wells in the engine pods. The join between the top and bottom of the engine pod needs a load of fillers;
Image

Hope to get the fuselage closed up tonight, but each half has a slight bow and twist. It'll be a gradual, inch by inch aligning and glueing job. The plastic on this kit is hard and brittle
