Well played James. Lots of nice renditions of these builds.

I am most envious of these builds. Here is my attempt; in particular I didn't get the canvas tilt how I hoped. Also I may have underdone the dry brushing for the dusty desert.
Scratch built sights/wing mirrors.

Very nicely done. The sights on the Bofors really look fantastic. The tilt looks good to me too.

That's a great little vignette and I particularly like the new sights you've given the Bofors; a big improvement on the kit offering!
Cheers
David

I once had a modeler give me advice about how much dry brushing and/or weathering you should do on any given model. You do it until you think you need just a little more, then stop because you probably don't. I guess the message is overdone is worse than underdone and usually if you step back or maybe look at the model in another light, you've got it right as is.

Nice little dio. Well done.

Thank you

Good points on the dry brushing. I don't like shading overdone either. I just thought the tyres look a bit too black in the photos. I drybrushed, then toned back a few times. I suppose it's not an exact science.

On the tilt, the next time I try something like this I will paint a dark undercoat first, then add the final colour. The idea being it gets a really grubby, faded look. What I did here was prime in light grey, paint Hu121, then wash.

During conscription I served with the AA branch of the Royal Danish Air Force commanding a couple of 40mm Bofors L/70 guns. For a day we had the wartime 40mm L/60 to play with which would have been our mainstay in case of mobilization.
My model is an early US-supplied unit; prior to these the guns came from Canada which differed somewhat. The tractor have to wait for another day as the Danish Army used Ford C15 or Bedford QL's. Will have to pick up one of these someday.
Added a few details and changed some where our's differed. Very nice little kit. :D
