Please try to make an effort to post your messages to the correct forum. Message in the wrong forum will be moved, or deleted. Also, cross-posts and double-posts will be deleted too. Make sure that your post has a meaningful title such as "Advice wanted on how to ... " . Just putting "Help required" is actually not very helpful at all.

Hi Rob,
Have a look at this link, it is from Tamiya.com and they recommend their own spray TS-15 Blue. Failing that I am sure Halfords do a colour match service for their spray paints, but they are quite expensive IIRC.

Hope this is of some use to you.

Do you use an airbrush Robo? If so, have a look at Zero Paints ZP-1067 and associated primers and clear coats via hiroboy.com. If not, it's a case of buying a couple or three likely candidates from Halfords and judging which is the closest; a bit expensive I realise, but the unused ones can often be pressed into service for later projects.

I had to Google that to figure out that it's the 1/12 scale Tyrell 003. I used to live near Glasgow, where it was displayed for several years (Museum of Transport, first in the old tram sheds, and later in the Kelvin Hall), and at that time it was Humbrol "midnight blue".

Since "Elf blue" is usually a lighter shade, it may have been lighter "in period" though.

Thanks guys! i may opt for a ts15 aerosol as im useless with an airbrush, and just dont fancy guessing at Halfords even though i love their paint.
