My Airfix brothers (and perhaps I have some sisters as well)

My knowledge regarding Allied AFV markings does not go beyond what is often included with the kit. I am currently working on a Sherman "Crab". Now the decals - the instructions indicate that this particular vehicle belongs to an American unit, but the decals look quite British to me. Any advice on this?

I have moved your post to the correct forum :naughty:
I thought the markings in this kit was for 79th Armoured Division, Gold Beach, Normandy, France, 6th June 1944, a British unit

Well I see that my knowledge regarding the correct forums also seems to be limited, but thanks Ratch.

Although on the Airfix instruction sheet it says, and I quote "79th Armoured Division, United States Army, Operation Overlord, June 1944 WWII, my gut feeling said "NO", that looks British  So the news is very good to hear that it may indeed be British.

No doubt about it, the 79th was a British Division

There was a 79th (US) Infantry Division that landed at Utah Beach, Normandy, 12–14 June and entered combat 19 June 1944. This division did not use Sherman Crabs. You have an Airfix typo here (a subject which is begging for its own thread).
