Can anyone help re. the "correct"colour scheme for these lorries? I have seen reference to 2 tone green as per BEF vehicles, green/brown and green/black. I did also see that, as these were basically a private venture, the paints used were whatever the manufacturers had available.
Any details re.any possible markings would also be appreciated

During the period when these Bison and other ad hoc defence vehicles were built it would seem that there was no standardised disruptive scheme in place for them. Logically they should have come under the jurisdiction of the War Office but they seem to have been governed in some way by the Ministry of Home Security. So these vehicles seem to have been painted by the company that built them using colours of their choice deemed of a suitable camouflage nature, applied in a disruptive design akin to the official MTP.20 regulation of horizontal/diagonal bands of a dark colour. Since Khaki Green and Dark Green were the official colours then reasonably you could use any green you fancy for the basic colour with a dark brown, black or green over that. I have a photograph of vehicles like this being built in Wolverhampton and of the several in the picture not one is alike in tone or disruptive stripes, in fact at a guess one seems to be light green and black, a noticably very high contrast design.
