Can anyone help? On the Beutepanzer site there is a picture of a 232( 6 rad) radio car followed by what appears to be a Marmon Herrington MkII on patrol in Jugoslavia 1942. Both appear to be painted sand colour although this could be a heavy layer of dust. The MH also appears to have some sort of frame aerial mounted. Can anyone out there confirm what the true colour scheme is and, if possible, what units would have been using this strange pairing of vehicles?

I'm obviously doing something wrong so the best way is to go onto the Beutepanzer site, then to the pictures section, select UK technics and scroll down to armoured cars. The picture is the 2nd down on page 4 of that section. Hopefully that will help.

That's got it yes.

Mono photo colour interpretation can be a complete 'mare. In this case though, the tyres help because they're almost certainly basically carbon black before allowing for dust or mud. Using that as a reference, I think that shots 1-3 are probably dunklegelb as a base, and shot 4 is panzergrau. As for the frame, I'm guessing a bit, but it may be either for supporting a camouflage net or to make the MH look more like the 232 6-rad with the radio antenna, or both.
