Hi Dockyard Matey
The "Mud pen" is a Tamiya product, its a bit like a lip stick, a kind of wax-like brown substance that is applied and left to dry.
Its not cheap, but I felt that I should try it.
I must admit that it adds a certain something, I guess that it will do 2 or 3 1/35th scale tanks or several smaller scale.
There's pictures of my WW1 Whippet in my portfolio which should show the effect?

Have got some of these sets tried using them but they seem too hard to adhere to the brush or sponge when putting on the model there is nothing on the sponge or brush . Do I have to wet the applicator first?
Cheers Sean

I find the Tamiya weathering sets quite good but find I have to scrape them with a needle to release the pigments as they are closely compacted. Also, having not used one set for a while I found that they had 'dried' out considerably and become quite brittle..
