Loving the late Beaufighter TF10 artwork. Website even has an alternate Tooby artwork.

But I'm a sucker for the post war bomber scheme of grey over black.

Man! Great looking box art. I wish they would offer some of this art as posters.

Hi johnnyb,

you can buy some of the box art as posters/prints. Adam Tooby has done a lot of work for Airfix in the last few years and you can purchase prints from his web page.

On a separate note, both the boxart images for the victor and 1/48 stuka show a union jack and some writing on the bottom right corner, anyone know what thats about, not on any kits previously?

'Designed and Manufactured in the UK'

It shows it on the boxart for the 1:48 Warhawk in a magazine, and has the same logo printed within the advert text itself too, so I'm assuimg it's the same? Looks right anyway!

I guess they are bringing manufacturing back, and slowly more of the boxes will have it as contracts end and molds are brought back to the UK.

I just noticed that Airfix have revised the artwork for the Victor.
The original had the serial number under both wings. They have now been deleted.

The difference is mainly in the engine used- The B5N1 used the Nakajima Hikari single row radial engine, resulting in a larger in diameter cowling. The B5N2 used the Sakae engine, which was smaller in diameter, resulting in a smaller, more streamlined looking cowling.

Thanks. Be interesting to see if Airfix molded the differences of the engines within the kit.

The B5N1 has a separate sprue included with the required engine and cowling.

Looks like this will be the box art for the new Swordfish release.
