Does any one know where I can get the blue foam boards relatively cheap in the UK?

Here, I get them from Builders suppliers but for smaller bits (not full Sheets) I scrounge from skips or ask at Building sites. They are usually happy to let you take it.

I did exactly the same, drove pass a skip and helped myself after having spoken to the builder first.

Dont forget blue foam can also be got as pink foam and green foam. Green foam is i believe the latest incarnation and slightly denser and carves and sands beautifully for that reason. All these foams are used extensively by flying model builders and working model boat builders to a certain extent. (I use it for 32nd scale mtb and air sea rescue launch hulls. Try a search under plastic insulation suppliers in you area but I think the smallest sheet you will obtain this way is 2 feet by four feet. Regards, Walter .
