a couple of close ups of the Henschel turretted  King Tiger at The Tank Museum. I've just noticed the second image is Jagtiger, "I wonder who was going to notice that first" "Pike!"

just so you know where the hits were scored on her, after she was abandoned by her crew, two Shermans  fired at her at short range, both striking low failing to penetrate the hull, no wonder she caused "Tiger fever" in the ranks of the Allies.

well, nobody said it was, many of the exhibits at Bovington have been put through the mill after capture, Tiger 131 was a total mechanical wreck after they had tested it to destruction, mind you I guess we can count our lucky stars we still have them and they've not all been melted down into Toyota vans.

Chris , some inspirational views there, makes you want to rush out and get one in 35th scale. That Museum is always changing, it's so dynamic, I go several times each year and there's always something moved, added, changed or new.

Great tank photos. going to Bovington has always been on the top of my wish list. There's suppose to be loads of activities kicking off in the summer with mock up tank battles, parades and drills, to mention a few. Fun and engaging for the whole family. One day it will happen.

I like the way they've traversed the Tiger ll Porsche turret so the gun is aiming at the entrance to the WW2 hall, visitors feel,( in the words of Kelly's Heroes sherman tank driver Morriearity,)
"assaulted by them Tigers, you know what I mean by assaulted? well I mean Assaulted!"
