Any chance of a close-up individual picture of the h'officer a horse?
I think we'd like to identify what set he comes from.

Fair enough, Ratch. On closer inspection, I think the horseman might just possibly be from the Airfix Cowboys set, by the way...

Possibly the Cowboys or the ACW artillery set. He also could be from the Foriegn Legion, the epaulettes and had a bit of conversion

Russia (1858-1883) might be another possibility, close-ups of the flags might help.

Russia  The colours possibly but then the big diagonal black cross ...it´s annoying not being able to find it :hithead:

Here's that close-up

I'm pretty convinced he's from the Cowboys/Wagon Train, converted with the sword

Both sets have a figure almost identical.

With you there. Not sure what he's been converted to - looks like a Victorian postman, or one of the Keystone Cops!

The kneeled one and the guy walking with the rifle on his chest seems to be Airfix Afrika Korps or British Infantry soldiers, from the first mould, heavily modified, maybe with Airfix WWI German Infantry heads.
The officer is an Airfix ACW Artillery officer, Ratch. The gun may belong to that box, too.
