Well today must be a school holiday around here, and some kids and their bigger mates were jumping on the exhaust and back bumpers of my favourite Tranny, being slightly miffed at this I did a really silly thing...... I made it clear to them that I disapproved, I may have even shouted "I say you chaps please don't be doing that" or words to that effect. To which I was awarded a damaged pair of glasses and a right shinner .... ouch ....... I hadn't seen that coming ! As another of the bigger lads had snatched my camera as I took pictures of what was going on, he triggered the video capture, complete with his own image, and the words and action including the application of said shinner, but the camera operator ( who was obviously not aware of what was being recorded) placed the camera safely on an adjacent wall after I had suggested that appart from being cowards and picking on an old chap, he was also a thief, but handy as the video was still recording. All most gratefully copied to the local Police computer. I suppose at some distant point a mild telling off will happen, or maybe I'll be summons for hurting his fist with my head and glasses , by which time I will probably be esconsed behind a pile of sandbags batting away half house bricks etc 'playfully' being thrown at the house etc. If you hear of a war starting in Brum you will know where it started.... _________________ Pax Britannica

Thank you Feo and Gerry, it only hurts when I put my glasses on ... and it looks a real cartoon purple now in both eyes ... Any way the local law have played a blinder, and I'm more in shock from that than the thump. They came down and took me to drive past groups of 'likely suspects' who matched my discriptions and the video too. So all involved were rounded up and separatly taken to not so local nick. Detained in custody ready for court on Monday for the puncher, with no bail allowed !. So a result.
The paperwork filling in officer phoned tonight to give me the update.
Apparently this big kid is twenty years of age and has a long list of previous so he's now looking to serve time on the adding up system. At least he owned up to it which may save me having to go to court. I suppose I'll have to look out for his family and friends from now on ... .
I must also add I am amazed at the speed and effectiveness and of the reaction from the local Police, it is a big improvement from years previous. _________________ Pax Britannica

Sounds great Loll.
Good to hear the Police took action.
I hope your heal well and quick.
But please tell me what a Tranny is.
I can't imagine you are refering to what I'm thinking of.

Oh Feo and other colours too, I need the upright sitting position, which I can't get in a car, or even in the later Trannies. The 'ole smiley is about the best they ever got, now the new ones are just prettier and much more fragile.
Anyway a small update to make you wince, anyone of a delicate nature please look away.
I was carrying on as almost normal, and I had to blow my nose ...... bad bad bad move, I managed to almost blow my eye out of the socket !!!! Pain I would say going by what my ex wafe gave as an explanation of childbirth .. I think I had twins together !!!!
Gory story cut short .. hospital, front of queue in A&E .. torture chamber.... eye freezing liquid to stop the pain phew !!! eye test failed, xray ... giving concern ... third xray shows clear air pocket behind my eye socket ...... . Eye drops and special instructions for whats left of tonight, and possible surgery in the morning ..... What with all my TVs packing up now it's simple medical things going wrong again !!!!
Does anyone know how to stop yourself from sneezing ? Just part of my instructions
This sense of humour of mine is starting to get near the end, but ....
Oh one funny part, a woman was complaining about me getting seen before her splinter ... all I did was look at her and she turned grey ..... at that point my eye was about an inch lower than it should be and swollen like beach ball. A little kid sat waiting for his mum thought it looked great "Look mum thats so cool he's moved his eye" ...... _________________ Pax Britannica

Good Lord!
(Here's hoping for a speedy recovery, Loll --and perhaps a bit less dauntless courage in the face of disorderly punks...)

Absolutely Dancho Now I can't even get into bed because it hurts too much when I lie down , so I have to spend the night in my best chair instead, at least. I won't be able to roll over onto it. This year I think the 'Big Man' is trying to tell me something. _________________ Pax Britannica

Hell Loll this is awful stuff to be happening to you. All the best for a speedy recovery.

Best way I know is to pinch the skin together twixt forefinger and thumb about halfway down the nose while breathing in through the nose (when you feel a sneeze coming on). Honestly though under the circumstances I'd check with the doc before trying any fiddling about up there.
Hope the little scumbag that inflicted this on you rots. |

Hi Feo those styes can be very sore, especially if it turns into a pouwke. But there is one good side for you, at least you can eat the pigs afterwards ......
Warm salt water bathings will shift those beggers.
Your not eating enough greens are you I can just hear every mothers words .....
Quick update, still got two eyes, plus two fractures behind my nose but they can't see on the scans or xrays how badly broken. Had a nice time with the doctors who were very good but unavoidably painful. I was back at City Hosp this morning and I have just got home from Selly Oak very good specialist came in especially to see if I needed full surgery today... didn't see any of 'our lads' today. City removed some of the buildup of fluid and I now get a rest until Monday when hopefully more of the swelling will have gone down. Phew I'm getting sick of the sight of hospitals this year.
Ps. And I'm still managing a (lopsided) smile. _________________ Pax Britannica

Ayup Loll...
Glad to hear you're getting sorted. sorry you're going through lots of Trauma.
On the subject of styes, i usually get them (and other ailments ) if i've been stressed out over a period and thus get run-down. (Please form an orderly queue to come and run me down...) They're very easily transmitted from one eye to another.
On the subject of Greens, I eat that much that i reckon i could Fart BETTER than any 2 Champion Racehorses you care to mention !
My Offer still stands though... _________________ Airfix Member 022... Jolly Boy.

Thank you B4en and Op-G I missed those posts. With this Mozilla-Firefox internet it has lots that I like but one or two strange quirks, it sometimes opens up several pages in one long roller towel type of effect, with only one eye focusing I miss sections out. Still miles better than Internet Explorer. _________________ Pax Britannica

Ha ha ouch !! I can recall a rugby player in great pain because he has taken a knock in the erm .. brains ... He was given linament instead of cream to ease the scratch marks ...... not a pretty sight watching an 18 stone prop forward crying in agony !!! still makes me shudder to remember it, I wonder if he ever got over it. _________________ Pax Britannica
